Pakistan’s backup wicket keeper batsman has been a huge question ahead of the tournaments coming. The ACC Asia Cup 2023 and the ICC World Cup 2023. Some experts are saying that Pakstan cricket team should prefer experience as a backup wicket keeper which is Sarfraz Ahmed while others want to go with Muhammad Haris as the backup for Muhammad Rizwan as he is young and hit the ball.
Muhammad Haris is also looking better than Sarfraz Ahmed in form and till an extent behind the wickets as well. Muhammad Haris has already been selected in Pakistan’s squad for ACC Asia Cup 2023 and Afghanistan series so if Sarfraz Ahmed wants to come into Pakistan cricket team he would have to prove himself somewhere before the ICC World Cup 2023 otherwise Muhammad Haris failure could lead to Sarfraz making it into Pakistan squad for World cup 2023. No Pakistan cricket fan would want this to happen as they want Pakistan cricket team to win and perform.
Pakistan’s Former Wicket Keeper batsman Rashid Latif has talked about the matter. According to Rashid Latif Sarfraz Ahmed should be part is f Pakistan’s World Cup 2023 Squad, another argument in support of Champions Trophy winning captain is that he is a great player of spin and conditions in India are good for spinners.
“Sarfaraz should have been picked over Mohammad Haris depending on their experience for the Asia Cup and World Cup 2023” says Rashid Latif.
As informed the decision for Asia Cup 2023 has already been taken and we can see for any change for the ICC World Cup 2023. The final decision is in the hands of Pakistan cricket board selection committee.
Asia Cup 2023 will commence from 30 th August while the World Cup 2023 opener is scheduled to be played on the 5th October whereas Pakistan will play their first match on 6th October.
